Dr. Loi Nguyen is the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Optical and Copper Connectivity at Marvell. Prior to joining Marvell, he co-founded Inphi Corporation, where he served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Optical Interconnects. His career also includes engineering roles at Honeywell’s Physical Sciences Center, where he contributed to advancements in high-speed semiconductor devices.
Dr. Nguyen holds seven U.S. patents and has authored more than 50 scientific publications, with his research focusing on ultra-high-speed semiconductor devices that enable broadband optical communications, automotive radar, and radio astronomy. His work has significantly influenced the fields of networking and communication technologies. He has served on technical committees for major IEEE conferences, including the International Electron Devices Meeting and the Device Research Conference.
Dr. Nguyen received both his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and earned an MBA from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA. In addition to his technical achievements, Dr. Nguyen is an accomplished wildlife photographer whose work has been featured by renowned organizations such as the National Audubon Society and the National Wildlife Federation.
